For ING’s widely acclaimed social responsibility project #BayramınAdıÇocuk, launched in honor of National Sovereignty and Children’s Day on April 23, we handled all front-end and back-end software development of the campaign website designed by creative agency Tribal Worldwide Istanbul.
The platform’s goal was to enable citizens who could not visit Anıtkabir due to pandemic restrictions to leave a symbolic digital message of love and gratitude to Atatürk alongside a virtual carnation, transforming this interaction into educational support for children.
Our core responsibility was to build a highly performant and reliable web application capable of handling extraordinary traffic within a short campaign period, allowing tens of thousands of users to leave messages simultaneously.
To accommodate this high transaction volume and sudden traffic surges, the project was developed from scratch as a custom software solution on the .NET platform with an architecture optimized for maximum efficiency rather than using standard CMS frameworks. The back-end application was designed to record every incoming message (form data) into an MSSQL database swiftly and without loss. Asynchronous processing and database optimization techniques were employed to use server resources efficiently and prevent bottlenecks. This robust infrastructure enabled over 300,000 people to submit forms smoothly during the brief campaign, achieving record participation.
On the front end, the emotional and impactful design provided by Tribal Worldwide Istanbul was implemented to load quickly and be easy to use on any device. Using modern JavaScript libraries, a fluid user experience was created with instant feedback whenever a user submitted a form.
In summary, by expertly managing the entire technical load behind this creative campaign, we delivered a scalable and error-free digital platform in a short time that allowed ING’s meaningful project to reach hundreds of thousands of people and generate the intended social impact.
